Westinghouse Digital's compact W32001 20-inch LCD television will amaze you with its ability to render sharp, vivid images from both interlaced and progressive-scan video sources. The set features a standard, 4:3 aspect-ratio screen whose dimensions match those of most NTSC TV broadcasts as well as old movies (and it's a little-known fact that black-and-white movies look fabulous on high-contrast LCD screens). The 640 x 480-pixel W32001 features an ultra-thin, 6.9-inch profile with wide, 160-degree x 140-degree (horizontal and vertical) viewing angles that makes it possible to view a clear picture from almost anywhere in the room--perfect for gatherings and family movie nights. The EDTV-resolution TV ("enhanced definition") is fully compatible with progressive-scanned 480p video signals such as those from DTV set-top boxes and many DVD players and recorders. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. The W32001's exceptional 16 millisecond response time (the time it takes the screen's pixels to update themselves with fresh data) delivers crisp images for fast-action moving video and video games. The set also displays the broadest possible range of colors and--with its 450 cd/m2 brightness--produces vibrant images in most lighting condition. Westinghouse Digital's advanced PIP (picture-in-picture) functions give you everything from mixed-mode PIP for watching TV and working on a PC concurrently to split-screen viewing and the option to resize and relocate the PIP window. You can watch one TV program and any other of the set's video inputs. PIP abilities even extend to image swap and audio swap, which lets you switch the sound between the PIP and main screens without rearranging the video windows. Connections include component-video, composite-video, S-video, RF, and PC (RGB). A headphone jack fosters private listening, and the set's built-in speakers give you stereo audio (with 5 watts per channel) from inputs or broadcast programming. What's in the Box TV, pedestal stand, stereo RCA to minijack audio adapter, and user's manual.

Summary: Appalling Customer Service 2007-02-14
Comment: Never buy a product from Westinghouse Digital. I purchased a laptop from them and it arrived with major hardware problems. Upon discovering the problem with my computer, I attempted to obtain an RMA number and my call was NEVER returned. Without this number you cannot get anything serviced. After I called 3 times over the period of two weeks, someone finally told me the number and the address. They received my package on January 9, and I have not heard a single thing since then (February 13). Furthermore, everytime I have called to inquire, I have been on hold for an unacceptably long period, and when my call was finally answered, the response was that they knew nothing and would get back to me, which never happened. I have been without my computer for a month and a half now, with no end in sight. It is a gamble to purchase any product from this company, since any factory defect may lead you to lose complete track of your property and spend countless hours on hold and listening to excuses.

Summary: Excellent Choice! 2005-02-01
Comment: In the last week I have purchased 2 LCD televisions. The first was a Funai 20" TV. I took it out of the box and was not impressed at all, first of all the television was extremely bulky, second it looked a little archaic, third the picture wasn't that great, and last the sound was horrible! I returned the Funai, which cost $150 more, and purchased the Westinghouse 20" which I love. The picture is awesome, it has a tilting screen to adjust the angle of viewing, the sound is a million times better and the overall aesthetics of the television are great. Also, the input jacks are located in the ideal spot so you can easily hide the wires behind the stand. I would absolutely recommend this television to anyone. Not only is it a good-looking sleek design, but also

Comment: I just received mine today and just unboxed it and hooked it up to my DVD player and popped in a disk.
The picture is great and the additional items that come in the box are wonderful.
It has picture in picture and can hook up to a PC but I haven't tried these yet.
We bought it for out Fifthwheel trailer because we had only 15" depth and a conventional TV would not fit.
From the 15 minutes that I have played with it I am very satisfied that it is a quality unit with great picture and viewing angle, speakers are very good also.(8w)
The reason I gave it only 4 stars is that I haven't tried everything yet because I'm loading into the coach now and heading down the road...good luck with yours.
