It features a built-in, 181-channel NTSC TV tuner for standard broadcasts, and can receive high-definition (ATSC) broadcasts from an optional HD tuner. The 23HL85 makes it easy to connect to brilliant imagery with its component and HDMI connections, and it can also double as a PC monitor. This set also offers Toshiba's exclusive HD Dynamic Contrast function, which provides a sharper, deeper image with rich colors and a more life-like image. The 23HL85 has a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio--perfect for high-definition telecasts and DVD movies--1366 x 768-pixel resolution, 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and 500:1 contrast ratio.
