The AQUOS LC-60E88UN 60-inch class (60-1/32 inches diagonal) is a high-performance large screen LCD TV. With Sharp's Full HD 1080p X-Gen Panel and true 240Hz Fine Motion Enhanced, it delivers breathtaking picture quality. X-Gen Panel
Sharp's X-Gen panel provides a wider aperture allowing more light to pass through, which requires fewer backlighting elements to create an extremely bright image. Also, because the re-designed LCD panel has less ribs than traditional panels, the pixels are better sealed which enables nearly all light to be blocked resulting in darker images. The result is a fantastic image, in full HD 1080p resolution.
240Hz Fine Motion Advanced
Sharp uses a unique algorithm to create images that help smooth sharp edges on moving objects, like a running play in football, a player swinging a bat, or a car chase. By creating new images and filling in the gaps, motion appears smoother and less jumpy. The result is a smoother picture with more detail.
OPC (Optical Picture Control)
Most television viewing does not take place under perfect lighting conditions--sometimes you watch TV with daylight streaming in the windows, and other times you watch in the middle of the night while your spouse tries to sleep beside you. Sharp's OPC (Optical Picture Control) system automatically adjusts the TV's brightness level based on ambient light, so you'll be able to see a bright picture in a bright room and a not too bright one when the room is pitch black--automatically. Think of OPC as an automatic light-sensing dimmer for your television.
Built-in Tuners
The LC-60E88UN includes ATSC/NTSC tuners to receive off-air broadcasts, as well as digital cable QAM capability for receiving non-scrambled digital cable programming. It's ready for available DTV and analog TV programming.
Great Connectivity
The LC-60E88UN features six 1080p compatible inputs (4 HDMI and 2 HD Component), along with composite and audio L/R connectors. A standard 15-pin D-sub PC connector lets you use it as a PC monitor, and the included RS-232C port lets you control your television using third-party home control and automation systems.
In addition, this TV is fitted with a USB port. Pop in a USB thumb drive or connect an external hard drive, and you can view your digital photos (JPG, BMP, PNG formats) or play back hours of music in MP3 format.
Finally, AQUOS Link capability enables convenient control of AQUOS Blu-ray Disc Players using your TV remote.
Vyper Drive
Vyper Drive game mode helps to eliminate the lag time between the game console and TV. When Game Mode is activated, the signal is streamlined resulting in transmission 5x faster than normal mode.
Solid Audio
A pair of bottom-mounted speakers provide 20 Watts (10w + 10w) of audio, enough to fill most rooms. Sharp's "Sound Surround" feature creates a surround effect using just two speakers.

The LCD screen looks amazing, the colors are vivid and they are very sharp. My roommate had a brand new Pioneer Elite PRO 60" Plasma (an $8,000 TV), so when he moved and took it with him I didn't think I would be satisfied with anything less. I was definitely wrong, the HD experience (based on my perception) is much better on the Sharp LCD. I am still trying to adjust to the realistic look of the picture. The setup was very easy. I also have a very large living room with lots of windows, so I was worried about the lighting, but the OPC feature works very well adjusting the backlight automatically. At first I was hesitant to buy this TV due to the lack of reviews, but it was definitely worth the risk.

It will support non-true 3D but still stupid if you ask me. You can only watch Monsters vs Aliens so many times and there are so many times when watching 3D ( I sat there for like an hour ) that your eyes cross over and those glasses are annoying and expensive and you won't have one for all your friends when they come over blah blah blah. 3D... wait for it to get better. First, about the vendor who sold the TV. I had never even heard about Audio and Video Center, but they were offering the best price on Amazon for this TV. I called them a couple of times to verify the price and how/when they would be shipping the item. Their customer service folks were courteous and informative, and they shipped the item the same day I ordered on Amazon. It arrived some 3 days later in top-notch condition. I would use them again, and I have put them on my list of trustworthy online retailers. Now, about the TV. I was looking at both LED-lit LCD as well as plasma models. I would have picked up a direct LED backlight LCD TV, but I couldn't find any in the 60" range.
