This review is from: Sharp LC46LE835U Quattron 46-inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED-LCD HDTV, Black (Electronics)
This is my second Sharp TV. I upgraded from a 32" 1080P set purchased in 2007. I put that Sharp television through its paces and was always happy with the picture quality, so I wanted to get another Sharp TV.
First off, I have not tested the 3D capability of this set. My current receiver is not compatible with that HDMI spec and I don't feel like purchasing the glasses at this point in time. I'll update the review if I test this feature out.
I had the TV delivered from Pilot. They came at the tail end of my requested delivery window and were friendly and professional. Unpacking and setting up the TV was a painless experience. Wow, is this TV thin and light!
Setting up the TV is a breeze. After a few questions (namely asking if the TV should be in display mode for a store) you're good to go. As expected with Sharp, the picture quality is phenomenal. After testing a BluRay disc, though, I immediately turned off the motion enhancement and film mode...Read more

I received the LC-46LE835U from Amazon about two weeks ago. It replaced a Samsung 46" DLP (model HLN467WX/XAA) I had since 2004. I paid > $4,000 for the Samsung, so the ~ $1,200 (including two pair of active 3D glasses) I paid for the Sharp is a bargain...lol.
I spent quite a bit of time looking at the various models at the big-box stores and reading on-line reviews. In my opinion, the Sharp 835 had the best picture of all the brands. Keep in mind that when I started searching for a new TV, I had no real brand loyalty; if anything I was slightly leaning towards LG based on experience with other LG products and looked very hard at the Panasonic plasmas because of the 3D reputation. Once I saw the Sharp 835, I could not imagine why anyone would choose another brand based on PQ.
All the current technology TVs (DLP, Plasma, and LCD) have very crisp looking screens. However, the Sharp 835 screen is noticeably brighter and more colorful. I can't get over some of the...Read more

No problems with dynamic motion settings, or lack of black tones,

I'm extremely pleased with this purchase of the 835U. I was somewhat concerned about online feedback/reviews of other Sharp LE models. However, I've had no problems with dynamic motion settings, or lack of black tones. Watching the NBA playoff games at 240 Hz motion has been even better than expected, and no 'motion sickness' as of yet. I'm not going to get into the level of analysis that many reviewers do, but have no complaints.
