Summary: Fantastic Viewing 2008-10-01
Comment: I purchased this TV when it first became available. I was prepared to purchase the earlier version but I knew that the this model, if it became available, would work better for me. I live and travel full-time in a fifth wheel trailer. My available space is restrictive. I knew that the reduction in depth and bezel dimensions would make installation much easier. I intitially set it up using the base provided. The set worked beautifully as soon as I plugged it in and hooked up my HD satellite service. The HD version of the weather channel is so clear that you think your viewing it live in the studio. Reception of HD over the air channels is amazing using the standard antenna that came with my camper. I can make a comparison with my daughter's 42 inch Panasonic Plasma. The Aquos is superior at comparable distances. I echo the other reviews that talk about the crispness of the picture. I am glad is waited for this latest technology by Sharp. Before starting my summer travels I make custom mounting using a standard arm. I enlarged the wall TV opening to fit flush to the TV with 1/4 inch foam rubber on all sides to cushion road travel. I have traveled 3000 miles since installation.

Summary: Sharp Aquos lives up to its reputation 2008-09-22
Comment: I had heard from multiple trusted sources that the Sharp Aquos is THE name in high quality HDTVs, so when it came time for me to replace my bulky 6 year old TV, it was natural to turn to the Aquos. It was a frustrating process getting the TV set up and ready for use (nothing to do with the TV itself, however.) I purchased a refurbished model and within days of first receiving the item, it died while I was struggling to get it to work with my cable (again, nothing to do with the televison, just the wiring in my house), the TV died and wouldn't power on. I contacted Sharp about the problem, as the refurb comes with a 30 day manufacturer's warranty and they promptly sent someone out to repair it. After receiving it back from the repair shop and some fussing with my cable, I got it to work and I must say, I couldn't be more pleased. The actual set up itself if you don't have any problems with your house's cable is simple. The picture is beautiful. I got this TV for use in my bedroom, and I want to note that it is a little bit big for that purpose, but I had supposed ahead of time that it would be. I got the 32' so that it could be used as my primary TV when I move out of my parents' house, so it's a fairly versatile size. I particularly like the ability to hook it up to my laptop so that I don't need to buy a separate DVD player and I can stream movies from Netflix or other websites onto it. I was rather impressed by the quality of the picture coming from my laptop as well. I haven't fussed at all with any of the preset settings, so I can't tell you anything about those. But I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Summary: Better then expected 2008-09-17
Comment: I spend many hours researching for my first HDTV and found that Sharp was one of the few making 1080p at the 32 inch size. I was a little apprehensive having read that many people got banding with their TV, but took the chance when the newer serial numbers appeared. After I hooked it up, no banding and the difference in quality is amazing. HDTV, blu-ray movies and PS3 games are very crisp. The TV also has a number of inputs, has the ability to scan for hd channels, and pretty light.
The only problem I noted was that it was really 32 inches, more like 31.25 makes me want to get a bigger one.
