Product Description
Sharp is the only TV screen manufacturer that can boast that they received an Emmy Award for their LCD TV technology and this 26" Widescreen TV stretches that recognition to a much higher level. All you need to do is watch and enjoy. This TV includes an NTSC analog tuner (like the one you're used to) and a new digital ATSC TV tuner set to activate for digital broadcasts that are soon to replace analog. The ATSC tuner can receive free over-the-air reception of currently broadcasted HDTV stations (an optional HDTV antenna is required). There is also a CableCARD slot to accept a special card from your Cable or Dish TV service carrier and virtually replaces the need for the receiver-box for most services. It also has a PC input that lets you use this screen as a display for your PC. Imagine watching TV and then switching to the Internet for more programming choices. 1366x768 Resolution for 480i and 480p analog display and 720p and 1080i HDTV display Video System - NTSC and ATSC, Tuning System - ATSC/QAM/CableCARD/NTSC 450 cd/m2 Brightness / 800 - 1 Contrast Ratio Up to 60,000 Hour Lamp Life Less than 12ms Quick Shoot Response Time - sutable for videogaming Color Temperature Options - 13000K, 9500K, 8000K, 6500K, 5000K (Approximate Values) View Modes - Sidebar, Smart Stretch, Stretch, Zoom, Dot by Dot (for PC), Normal (for PC) Cabinet Color - Titanium with Black Sides Unit Dimensions - 26.53 x 21.33 x 10.55 (With Stand), 26.53 x 20.31 x 4.48 (Without Stand) / Weight - 37.5 lbs. Summary: More sound problems 2008-07-19
Comment: Another case of the sound board giving out after 18 months. Any company with a conscience would assume warranty responsibility for an obvious engineering issue.
Not at all impressed.

Summary: sharp LC-26D6U acquos 2007-10-01
Comment: TV sound quit working after 13 months. Had problems with set turning on randomly. Sharp will not help since TV set warranty was only 12 months. Local bench charges are minimum of $80.00 just to look at it and boards average a few hundred dollars. Sharp Customer Service services and protects Sharp only.

Summary: No Problems 2007-03-07
Comment: I have owned this TV fo 6 Months now. It worked perfectly from day one with no problems. It has a superb picture even in SDTV mode. I don't understand all the problems the other reviewers report. Sometimes reading the instruction book really helps.

Summary: Mixed feelings, some basic design flaws 2007-01-04
Comment: When it (works most of the time) it has a very good picture. However there have been many times that it was frustrating when the set malfunctions to have to unplug the set for ten seconds or more then plug it back in to get it reset. I have some backround in machine design; It seems that the microcontroller can get into an undefined state and there is no watchdog circuit built in to get the set back into operation without user intervention. Sharp's recommended service shop and factory technical support failed to address this problem.

Summary: Poor customer service, awful product 2006-12-19
Comment: I bought this TV Oct 18th as a refurb from 2nd Act. 2 mos later, haven't watched it yet. It arrived broken (turns on & off continually). 2nd Act totally uninterested. Only Sharp warranty repair in/near Austin is ET Television, which got lowest possible rating on Austin City Search. I couldn't agree more. In shop for 1 month, got it home & still broken. Sharp customer Service has been a nightmare. No response, people on phone keep saying they are sorry, nothing they can do.
