Summary: piece of junk 2008-07-21
Comment: We bought this TV a little over 2 years ago and guess what it just broke. We unfortunately did not buy the extended warranty so we are out of luck. My husband called Polaroid and they told him that they would fix it for 650 dollars plus us paying shipping and handling each way. That's a joke considering you can buy a brand new one for a little more than that these days. The picture went black in one area and the rest is a mix of red and blue. I am really disappointed and would give this zero stars if I could, when you spend 2000 on a tv you would expect it to last quite a bit longer than 2 years. this is a shame because it had a nice picture until this happened. if you do a google search on the internet you will see that many, many people have had problems with this tv and you should not waste your money.

Summary: Plasma TV worthless 2008-02-10
Comment: We bought this tv, it lasted 11 months. Remote stopped working. Little does one know that you need the EXACT model remote or the tv won't work not even getting up and working the controls on the tv itself. They don't know if they are even "making the remotes" anymore, they have a problem getting parts. We pushed this plasma tv out of the house, it has been 3 months now, we are told a different story each time we call as to why there are no remotes available. Finally, one tech told us that they try and order the remotes from a remote control distributor, the same one we tried, to get their OWN remotes! Well the remotes the distributor has won't work, yes, they are Polaroid remotes but NOT the exact one needed for this plasma tv.
Avoid Polaroid, it is a conglomerate that bought the polaroid name to distribute nameless chinese made tvs. It is a nightmare and a heart attack of frustation not to mention loss of money.

Summary: Polaroid customer service disappointing at best 2008-01-14
Comment: This television worked great for about 10 months. Then the pixels wore out and it was garbage. Although it came with a written warranty by Polaroid for a 1 year term, Polaroid claimed it was not their problem and referred us to a subsidiary. The subsidiary when contacted referred us back to Polaroid. After many phone calls and mounting frustration levels, Polaroid accepted responsibility, however we had to ship the tv back at our cost, etc. Polaroid was to replace the tv on the basis of "as good, or better." TV never came. Contacted Polaroid and they told us that they had sent it by Fed Express and told us to deal with Fed Ex. Fed Ex never found the TV. Polaroid said they would send another tv. TV came today with no power cord, no remote control, broken tv mount, scratched and dented. Bottom line, save time, money and frustration and go with another tv manufacturer. Update 1/22/08 Polaroid sent another replacement television; arrived today with a cracked screen!!! How do they stay in business!! OK, now it is February, and after sending us 4 broken TV's, Polaroid says they will refund our money. Unfortunately, our problems are not over. Refund never came. We call Polaroid customer service, they say, there was a processing error you should receive your check in 10-15 bus. days. Refund does not come. Call again and same scenario, i.e. processing error, another 10-15 business days......

Comment: I just got it up and working, what a great picture, I have been looking at Plasma's for a while and this one looks better than many I have looked at, at close to twice the price. I might buy another one for my bed room. A plus
