I find this very disturbing because it was only by chance that I even had my reciept due to the fact that we were moving and did not even bother to open the box on the tv to use it until feb2008. I was informed by polaroid that they only "fix" if you have the reciecpt or a copy of it. Not to mention that they will only cover it for 1yr from date of purchase. Unfourtunatly the exended warrenty wasnt even offered and this was from a local reatail store. Like wise I dont think that i will be supporting any more products from polaroid due to the inconsistant quality and service. !!!BUYER BEWARE!!! 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Polaroid 42" LCD HDTV - 4226-TLMB (Electronics) My wife purchased the tv on Black Friday and we hung it on our bed room ceiling ( a- frame style ). After two months the picture faded out so we called customer service. After faxing our receipt to them they mailed a new control box. When it arrived we had to call them back to schedule a repairmen to come out and install it. Total time 12 days. Not 3 weeks later the picture faded again. After the same deal we decide to place it on a stand but that didn't help. Another month later it faded again. When it worked it was great but their lack of service sites and mailing the parts to us seems quite stupid when the repair man could already have them. I won't purchase another of their products. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Polaroid 42" LCD HDTV - 4226-TLMB (Electronics) I bought this television Black Friday and have been absolutely thrilled w/ it. The only thing that upset me w/ this tv is getting it out of the back of the car. The picture is ok on standard definition television, but then again it is built for hi def quality. I also purchased an HDMI cable for the use of my Xbox 360 and would say that this picture is as bright and sharp as any other tv I have seen. I was considering two other brands; Sharp Aquous and Samsung. I found both to be much more expensive for about the same picture qaulity. The stand is sturdy and the settings for adjustment are easy. Polaroid may have been a little shy on settings, but then again who wants to spend 45 minutes looking for the brightness controls. I have many comments on the use of my 360. Such as is that a real football game? Movies look wonderful and the blocking that you get in the screen w/ other brands is non-existent in this model. I have yet to have a problem w/ anything. I may be speaking...Read more |
