The DVD unit will go out in the first year - guaranteed. Any replacement DVD unit they send you will fail similarly. These TV's commonly fry the control box in the first two years. Trim around inside of glass pulls loose and will buldge into viewing area. If picture goes out or trim pulls loose within the 1 yr warranty period (high probablilty), it will cost close to $200 to ship the TV back and they will replace it with a used or rebuilt TV that someone else returned. They will not refund your money no matter how severe the failure. This TV is an absolute piece of junk and a total RipOFF by Polaroid. 7 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Polaroid 32" LCD TV/DVD Combo - TDA-03211C (Electronics) I went to an area retailer to purchase this set and came back another day with STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH on dvd to see how it handled starfields, blacks, and the main characters dark colored robe. The robe disappeared, the star fields were not clear, and worse, when I popped out my dvd it was so hot I thought surely the set may have damaged my film. I put my hand on the back of the tv and was stunned to see how hot the attached player was. I am surprised Poloroid hasnt recalled these machines as a safety hazard. DVDs are not meant to be cooked while playing. Very poor all the way around. Do not buy. Avoid. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Polaroid 32" LCD TV/DVD Combo - TDA-03211C (Electronics) I love my polaroid tv. TV's like this can save a relationship with its split screen especially if you are a gamer like I am. It is very easy to opperate. It was one of the greatest buys I have ever made however, after 10 months of use (extensive use becuase I use(d) it for a computer monitor as well as a TV and gaming TV) the power wouldn't come back on. After emailing Polaroid about the problem they sent me a new power unit and told me to expect a call 2 buisness days after recieving it for a repair specialist to call me. It has been over a month since reported and just under a month since I recieved the part that needed to be replaced. I have had to buy a labtop in order to do my homework and other internet based activities. Their Customer Service is great and communicate well however, their repair specialists need to be more prompt. A+ for the TV A for the Customer Service and an incomplete as of one month after contact for the Repair Team. |
