This "surround-sight" effect allows consumers to enjoy a visual extension from all sides of the screen while creating a more relaxing entertainment experience. Summary: Great TV ! 2008-06-01
Comment: This is my first big screen I've owned. Its a great TV, great quality sound, video.
Few negative key points though -- the TV takes about 10 seconds to turn on from the moment you press the on button. Secondly, when you're flipping through channels I like the kind of TV that flips through channels instantly not with a 2 second lag, other than that the TV is awesome!
One thing I absolutely love is the Ambilight feature. Its awesome watching movies and having a nice dark room and dark setting with the ambilight feature on. And you can choose how you want it, whether you want it dynamic, relaxed or moderate. Its a great feature for an LCD.

Summary: Very Pleased and Very Dissapointed 2008-04-23
Comment: I purchased this unit with a bit of apprehension. My apprehension was based on the relative small amount of information available on the Philips brand hd tv's. Long story short: Shortly after installing unit and getting cable cards configured on my TIVO unit I noticed that audio would drop when switching between high definition programing and standard definition programming. If I stayed on SD channels I would not get audio drop. Going from HD to SD resulted in audio drop - however if i switched back to HD audio was fine. After two weeks of troubleshooting (Philips claimed it was the tivo box, and then the cable card, and then my HDMI cables) Philips sent a tech out and he advised that it was the "Motherboard". Of course they offered to replace it free but I felt I had a lemon. Other than that, the tv looks great - High definition programing is wonderfull and I'm a believer in the ambilight gimmick. By the way, after losing audio on sd turning the tv off and on returns audio. Hope this helps someone troublshoot who is having the same problems. Beleive it or not, I'm considering buying the same model if I can find it.

Summary: Love this TV! 2008-04-07
Comment: This is a great addition to our home. It has really changed the way we watch movies. We already had a surround sound system, but we were missing the fantastic screen. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to watch movies or sports.

Summary: WARNING to all who may buy this HDTV... 2008-01-12
Comment: I shopped for months looking for the best feature set, quality, and look for the price - and this is the set I ended up with. Two months later, I still love this TV. The picture is fantastic and X-Box 1080p HD looks completely mindblowing. I still only have a Samsung upconverting DVD player, but even those movies/shows on DVD look fantastic.
Also, the Ambilight and swivel base give this set a cool and functional edge over other units costing much more.
The only problem is that with this new set you may find yourself watching all of your old DVDs again (just to see how they look). Plus, if you have lots of HD cable channels like me, you find yourself watching EVERYTHING just to see what visual wonders your new set will kick out today.
The end result? Expect your couch to have a large, permanent imprint from where your backside is constantly planted. Buyer beware...this set will turn even the most active person into a total couch potato!

Summary: Philips 47pfl7432 is Incredible! 2007-12-24
Comment: All I can say that after a few months of searching I decided to buy the Philips 47PFL7432D and I am so glad that I did. The overall quality is incredible. From the incredible 1080p picture (awesome), to the high gloss black frame and all the features in between I am thrilled with my decison. The picture is crystal clear. The ambilight feature is a great bonus, not only does it help with the viewing experience, but is also looks great when your wall lights up matching the picture being watched. I love the way Philips designed connections for HDMI on the botom of the set which allows easy access to them without removing the set from the wall. Great design idea! You will be impressed as I am.
