Summary: TV did not last 1 and 1/2 years 2008-10-21
Comment: Last May, (2007) as a gift I received a 32" Olevia TV, Model #LT23HVX. Two days ago it stopped working with only the little red light going on. This TV had a 1-year warrenty so repairs will not be covered. Regardless, I think a TV should last at least 5 years, NOT LESS THAN ONE & A HALF YEARS! After asking a few questions and having us change the cable, flip the master switch on and off 10 times, etc. Olevia/Syntax Customer Service reps concluded the TV needed a new power supply installed at our expense. The 32" Olevia by Syntax TV is now sitting mute with its screen dark. You may want to think twice before buying a 32" Olevia by Syntax TV (Model #LT23HVX ).

Summary: Great TV! 2008-08-11
Comment: We have two of these, and they are fantastic! The only thing to know is you cannot view in anything but widescreen. Anything not widescreen, will be stretched to become widescreen. Still a great little TV!

Summary: Disappointed and disillusioned 2008-04-17
Comment: I purchased this set just under a year ago from Kmart and it worked great up until a couples months ago. I recently got cable service and so had to hook the tv up to the cable box; that night I noticed a high pitched humming noise and realized it was coming from the tv. Two days after hooking up the set the remote controls (both for the cable - which was now programmed to control the tv - and the original tv control) no longer turned the set on immediately. I now have to stand there and press that ON button at least 15 times before the set actually turns on. I disconnected the set from the cable and unplugged it for an entire day hoping it would reset itself but to no avail. The set still humms incessantly when turned off and takes an eternity to turn on. I HATE THIS TV. Olevia's customer service sucks. Their idea of offering advice is to tell me to try pluggin it into another outlet...which I'd already tried and it FAILED.

Summary: Waste of money, space, and time... (Written by a disappointed reviewer) 2007-08-29
Comment: I work as a sales associate in Kmart's Electronics Department, and last night when I saw this nice looking TV just sitting in the back at the super low price of 210 dollars, I thought I had found a real bargain! My parents needed a new TV for their living room, so I figured I'd let them know about this one. They told me they had more important things to buy right now, so I decided to just buy it for them, figured it would be foolish to pass up such a great deal.
Boy was I wrong... After getting this home and looking it over, I found that this TV is practically useless!
Since this TV only has an Analog tuner, I'll have to buy a converter box for it if I want it to receive over the air broadcasts after Febuary 17th 2009! Also, I was under the impression that this was an HDTV, but it can only display an image up to 480p resolution, that's not High Definition, infact, it's just barely Enhanced Definition!
This TV might be okay if all you plan to do on it is play video games and watch DVDs, but with such low resolution and only an Analog tuner, it's almost useless for TV viewing...
You'd be better off spending a little more on a High Definition TV, or quite a bit less on an SDTV. (Standard Definition TV)
As for myself, I'm going to return this TV for a better one...

Summary: Sweet LCD TV 2007-04-09
Comment: I own a number of TVs, and though this is not the largest, or the highest resolution, it is the sweetest. This thing actually seems to imporove the quality of any picture I send it. DVDs look stupendous (go component input and yow!), and even old VHS tapes look better. The screen is much higher resolution than regular TV, and is, admitatedly just inside the range necessary to be technically considered HD compatible, but it does it's job well. Many newer sets like this exaggerate static and dropouts making the pitcure snowy... but not this baby! If the set lasts, I have a new favorite brand! G'bye Sony Trinitron, Hello Olevia LCD! I can't wait to get home to watch it!
