Summary: Great HD set but...... Sound needs some work 2008-08-15
Comment: I got my new Olevia flat panel last month and over all it is a good bang for the buck. The HD picture is excellent even on Comcast HD which is compressed. The sound is poor, however just like the others who wrote a review this is easy to fix just add external amplified speakers problem solved. One thing these sets are shipped in showroom mode. For those of you who just want to set up this set without reading the instructions here is a bit of advice. READ THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE FULL MENU. I would rate this set a solid 6 to 7 on a scale of 10. It is a good set for the bedroom or the dormroom.

Summary: SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND 2008-06-21
Comment: After less than a year my TV lost sound and picture. It should have still been under warranty, but Syntax (the manufacturer) was of absolutely no help. Don't let the price of this TV entice you like it did me. Pay a little more and get a TV that will last longer.

Summary: WARRNING 2008-05-08
Comment: Don't buy a Syntax Olevia! I bought one and it died almost to the day the warranty went out. Customer service said I would have to pay to ship it back and pay the parts and labor to fix it and that would cost over half of the TV's cost. They wouldn't offer to help with anything and they said they lost my registration card, the same one they used to call me with to ask me how I liked it a week after I bought the TV. So all I can do is to post this to every blog I can to try to inform others.

Summary: No go without a cable box! 2008-03-18
Comment: This unit does not have a coaxial (RF) connection, so if you don't use a cable box (basic and basic+ service users will not have a box) you wont be using this TV.

Summary: NOT CABLE READYY 2008-03-05
Comment: I received the TV in Fine working condition and fast too! The only problem I have is that there is no co-axial port on the TV, so unless you have digital cable, a VCR or DVD player, or just want to use it as a nice computer monitor this is the TV for you. Great value. But you must have seen my face when I opened the box and I couldn't connect my direct cable to the TV. I'm sending it back today.
