Summary: Fine Images, Should Cost More. 2008-03-24
Comment: This set is the first HD tv in our house. It took quite a while to pore through all that was available. The picture is what really set this unit apart at this price point, also the fact that at 37" screen size, it is a better fit in a medium size room. This model offers an easy to use menu, compact remote, capable sound, plenty of hookups and 1080p.(full HD)There is no backlight control, but the screen is so clear and smooth, it isn't an issue in my view. The remote is small, which is not a problem, but most users will never use it anyway. (satellite and cable providers' remotes are comprehensive) Second choice units were Sony and Samsung, but Sony's picture was not as realistic, (unless one elevates to the xbr, +$$) and samsung was too vivid and that shiny plastic case is distracting as well as gimmicky. I was also concerned about reliability, Samsungs and off-brands seem to have more issues, and I don't relish the possibility of carting or mailing this back at all. The internal speakers sound very good, ample bass and simple controls. The speaker bar can be removed for home theater/wall mount setups as well. All told, a nice package and priced well, hopefully for the long haul.

Summary: Great picture, good value 2008-01-18
Comment: We got this set at Sam's Club. It's a fine set with a good picture even in a well-lit room. The only small issue with it is that when the room is cold, it takes a little time for it to turn on. We keep the thermostat turned down to 50 when we're not home and it can take as long as four or five minutes before it comes on. This is our first LCD set, so I can't say if this is a general characteristic of LCD sets or just this model.
Based on our experience, I would definitely by this set again.

Summary: A great movie experience, or a surrealistically huge computing experience. 2007-12-14
Comment: Fantastic picture from the VGA port (all I use, as my Mac is my home theatre box) such a good picture in fact that it ruthlessly reveals the flaws of standard-definition DVDs. Nice and bright, black levels are acceptable (but could be a bit darker methinks) and a DVI port would be handy. The mounting system for the little speakers (on the bottom of the display) seems problematic to me, but they haven't fallen off yet. We paid a bit under a grand, I feel like it's a great value. Having a 37" computing experience however, is a bit freaky. (perhaps if I didn't sit so close....)

Summary: Magnavox 37" HDTV 2007-11-18
Comment: We purchased this television two months ago. After shopping around for several months we found this particular tv to be the best value. We have several family members that have purchased the more expensive high end tv's, and I must say all of them have commented on the picture quality on this tv to be as good or better than their expensive tv's. The sound quality could be better in my opinion, although, that may be due to the fact that we have a Bose home theatre system and after listening to Bose nothing else compares. This is a great tv, and we are very pleased.

Comment: Bought this after the Polaroid 37" I bought earlier had major problems with the sound. The Magnavox is so much nicer, easier to set up and no flucuation in sound. I LOVE IT.
