I bought this TV and worked for 3 years but then the power supply went out. Magnavox uses the cheapest parts and computer boards and if you do a search for Magnavox power problems you will see that most burn out at around 3 years. Cost is around $200 to replace. There is also a lawsuit, brought together by consumers, against Magnavox for creating poor quality TV's. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Magnavox 32MF339B/F7 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV (Electronics) I bought this at Brandsmart for 328.99 plus tax (6%)
I was willing to spend 400. I was looking at Panasonic, Sharp, Sony, LG and Toshiba. Each one had a fault or 2, but I would have bought any of them, they were all good. My favorite was the Panasonic, however, the audio output was pretty bad. Long short. I chose the 32MF339B based on #1 Price (under 350) #2 the tuner (it seemed to pick up signals while the others next to it didn't) and 3 the audio was loud enough for the bedroom I put it in. I am a Video Editor. I work and have worked for major networks editing and correcting video. I can tell you that the picture is not perfect, but good enough to watch the late TV shows and an occasional DVD I might throw in. At $329, you can't beat it. Even if it dies in a couple of years, so what. Technology is moving rapidly and I'm sure I'll want to upgrade. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Magnavox 32MF339B/F7 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV (Electronics) The Magnavox 32MF339B is an update to the nearly identical, well rated Magnavox 32MF338B. If you want a better idea of how people feel about this HDTV, read their reviews of the 32MF338B at http://www.amazon.com/Magnavox-32-22-720p-HDTV-32MF338B/dp/B001262W9S . I bought a 32MF339B four months ago and am totally satisfied with it. But, as with the 32MF338B, the sound is weak for a large room. I may add external speakers to it in the future to correct that. |
