With SmartSound, the TV smoothes out the jumps in volume between programs and commercials. SmartLock allows parents to block certain programs from young eyes. The program-block settings are based on standard movie and TV ratings, and unrated shows can be blocked as well. The SmartSurf button on the remote lets you return to the last five channels you watched. An additional last-channel button makes it easy to jump back and forth between two shows.
Getting started with the Magnavox 20MT133S is easy. Connecting to an antenna or cable is quick work, and a front-panel composite A/V input makes it easy to connect a camcorder, video game, DVD player, or VCR to the TV.
The 20MT133S will automatically program all available channels into memory the first time you plug it in. The onscreen menu allows you to refine the setup by setting recording preferences and preferred channels. The multilingual menu lets you control the TV in your choice of English or Spanish. You can set the 20MT133S to turn on at a set time, and the sleep timer makes it easy for you to fall asleep listening to the TV.

For one thing, the audio sucks. You can't turn up the bass without affecting the overall output significantly. The smart sound and smart picture features are just useless presets. The worst part is it sometimes makes this loud, high-pitched noise, which is much louder than the usual noise that all TVs make. Also, you can't turn it off. You can only put it on "stand-by", which wastes power. Shell out the extra 40 or 50 bucks for the toshiba or sony.
