Update your kitchen, bedroom, or home office with the 17-inch Coby TF-DVD1770 multi-tasking LCD TV, which includes an integrated side-loading DVD player and the ability to use it as a PC monitor. It has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner (as well as a PAL tuner for broadcasts outside North America), and you can view high-definition programming when connected to an optional receiver or cable/satellite set-top box via the component video inputs. It comes with a sleekly styled base that can be removed for wall mounting with optional hard ware. In addition to DVD movie and CD audio discs, the DVD player is compatible with DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, and CD-R/RW discs, and it can display photo slideshows from JPEG image files burned to disc. This set features a 1280 x 1024-pixel resolution, 4:3 standard aspect ratio, 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and 400:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections.
